Dental fact...
Research shows that oral health—preventive care and regular visits to the dentist—is integral to overall health:

Plaque

Plaque is a thin layer of bacteria that sticks to the surface of your teeth. The purpose of flossing is to remove plaque. Without thorough brushing and flossing, plaque can harden into tartar and may eventually lead to gum disease.

After you eat, bacteria in your mouth release acids that can harm your teeth and gums. To help your mouth, try to limit between meal snacking and eat a balanced diet. Brush with a fluoride toothpaste, floss at least once a day, and visit your dentist regularly to prevent plaque build-up.7

Oral health tools to help your child have a brighter smile:

  • Dental certificate: Print off a certificate agreement between you and your child, committing to a daily oral health routine.
  • Dental calendar: Encourages your child to track his or her daily brushing and flossing habits.
